We have enjoyed some reprieve and had some sleep overnight as the wind settled, a cool change came in and the teams were able to get some back burning done out Northcliffe West to reduce our exposure to the fire danger.
We woke this morning to a very still and calm start, and a few drops of rain, so feeling positive that we may have turned a corner. Too soon to start a survival celebration party as South West winds predicted for this afternoon, and this will certainly come our way, but due to the back burning and breaks put in, we are in a better position all the time to tackle these challenges.
Our girls are still safe and calm and we are crossing our fingers we are on the home stretch. Thanks for your support and care.
